It was just a suggestion but I don't think you completely understood my point, probably because I didn't explain it clearly enough. I agree Trump is getting way too much attention. My point was simply to show parallels today with Asia in the past, how its history can better help us understand what's going on with, for example, the conflict with mainland China and Taiwan, or other parallels you might see that most of us who don't know the history as you do, how it can help us better understand what is happening today. Isn't that the purpose of studying history, to help us better deal with our current problems?

Just a thought you might consider. Both of us are experts in a rather esoteric subject. Thing is though, for me, the only thing that sells related to my subject are kids books about Harriet Tubman. And because of this we aren't going to attract lots of readers. Now, if you started writing about Trump and his Asian policies, or just say the U.S. foreign policy in regards to Asian nations, I bet that would draw a lot of additional readers -- what do you think?

Thanks for your thoughts. Here's my thoughts in return. For years, I have thought that there should be a market for intelligent writing on Asia, Asian history, Chinese history, and related subjects aimed at intelligent readers who lack an academic background in Chinese or Asian history. And since this is the type of thing I like to write, that's what I plan to write about. Writing these things is my dream. We will see who shows up to read it as I do.

Secondly, while I did write a book on Trump ( see: https://www.amazon.com/Scams-Great-Beyond-Presidential-Paranormal/dp/B08JVPHMD1/ref=tmm_pap_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&dib_tag=se&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.0xHgTB67OjWZxpaXQf5vtA.9C9GHekcWQ_Uk2-FVGClOb24nqtf1qc4JbiFa0LlBcE&qid=1718423251&sr=8-1 ), and it did get good ratings, and I do wish more people would read it, I also think Trump gets too much attention.

He is a very interesting person and will some day be a fascinating piece of history. He has a ery well honed, yet narrow;u focused set of skills and one of them is to dominate the news cycle. I don't want to play his game.

Also, and I am serious, I don't think he has any real consistent China policy. His scope of interest is small but he can reach far to satisfy his immediate needs. So, if he is talking China, it is probably due to something much closer to home.

Very interesting man, very interesting and scary period of history we are living in right now. On the other hand, too many people are doing too much writing about Trump.

He's a man who had the skill set, the audacity, the cunning, and, I honestly believe, just plain luck, to step into the presidency because he knew how to play games with public imagery that his opponents did not, and he milked that skill set to the max. But I don't want to play his game and give him more atttention than I already have, and you are suggesting current events, sir, and I want to write history.
