New name, new start
An update on the publication formerly known as STAFI -Scattered Thoughts and Focused Investigations.
Greetings,
Just a note. My original promise was to offer two pieces of writing each week for three months and make everything available for free. I did this, and I am pleased.
But having done so, we have a new name, “Mostly Asian History.” The new name is more descriptive and hopefully will catch the eye of the people most likely to be interestedd in what this publication is intended to offer. In today’s information-flooded world, I feel that is important.
Our new schedule will be once a week.
One piece a week, and this piece will be released on Sundays until further notice.
The intent is there to produce more polished pieces.
The intent will be to vary subjects a bit more.
Oh there will be recurring topics. As stated, I am actively involved in researching the history of the history of the ninja, and I am also actively involved in researching the Chinese in the Old American West, but I will make an effort to include other pieces on widely different topics as well.
Again, if you want to support this project, please share posts, please encourage others to subscribe, and if you wish to and can do so, please feel free to pledge money and become a paying subscriber. If you can’t do that, please feel free to push that like buttion and put comments in the comment section.
It was just a suggestion but I don't think you completely understood my point, probably because I didn't explain it clearly enough. I agree Trump is getting way too much attention. My point was simply to show parallels today with Asia in the past, how its history can better help us understand what's going on with, for example, the conflict with mainland China and Taiwan, or other parallels you might see that most of us who don't know the history as you do, how it can help us better understand what is happening today. Isn't that the purpose of studying history, to help us better deal with our current problems?
Just a thought you might consider. Both of us are experts in a rather esoteric subject. Thing is though, for me, the only thing that sells related to my subject are kids books about Harriet Tubman. And because of this we aren't going to attract lots of readers. Now, if you started writing about Trump and his Asian policies, or just say the U.S. foreign policy in regards to Asian nations, I bet that would draw a lot of additional readers -- what do you think?
